We are getting some great submissions for Nine Mile Falls WA News and Information. This one we could not even come close to passing up. The local Stevens County Fire and Rescue is putting on a fundraiser for an extremely noble cause. With no further adieu I will let Greg Nowak explain it in his own words.
"I just wanted to pass on some information about your local firefighters. We have a team of nine firefighters heading to Seattle on Mar 9th to participate in a fantastic fundraiser, The 23rd annual Scott Firefighter Stair climb for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It is a timed race where 1800 firefighter from all over the world race up 69 flights of stairs in full turnouts and breathing with our air packs. Last year was a record event by raising over $1.4 million from this event alone. This year the goal is $2 million.
Our team will be having a fundraiser at the Suncrest PizzaFactory on Feb 23rd from noon to 6pm. The firefighters will be the cooks and servers. The prices are $10 for all you can eat pizza, breadstix and salad bar, 11-4 yr olds are $5, under 3 is free or a family ticket is $30."
